#004// Blossom.

There’s something about a place that’s been a witness to countless hours of work, thought, and craft.

This stable block – with its worn beams, thatched roof, and view out to the cherry trees – has been my sanctuary for four years this month. It has its quirks, a little rough around the edges, but it’s brimming with character.

As we step into a new chapter, both for Rushbrooke Knife Company and this old workshop, I can’t help but reflect on the time spent here – every knife made, every late night, and every small detail that’s passed through my hands. Soon, the workshop will get a well-earned facelift; new ridging on the roof, a fresh coat of paint, and internal remodelling. With it, I hope to see this space come alive with renewed energy, a place filled with ideas, progress, and purpose.

For now, it remains quiet aside from the hum of the dust extractor, but I can already feel the buzz of what’s to come – new faces, new conversations, and the continued journey of this most ancient craft. There’s no rush here, just the steady pace of doing things right.

One step at a time, the workshop, Rushbrooke Knife Company, and the cherry trees, will blossom together.
